Construction work has begun on site for the new Arts centre at Headington School, Oxford

The 23,000 sq ft new-build building contains three new artist studios, two wet & dry textile studios, 3D pottery & sculpture studio with kiln room, and a new photography and dark-room facility. Digital media are also provided for with editing suites, and a Cinemax screening room used for tuition and extra-curricular activities. 

The practical spaces are complemented by a new 150-seat lecture auditorium, art library and seminar room, as well as ancillary spaces. 

The building is designed to provide a variety of good natural lighting and is a calm composition of red brickwork to respond to the setting of the existing school campus.
